For this assignment I created a multimodal presentation that describes the works and significance of Berenice Abbott. The most compelling of her works were the ones that illustrated complex scientific concepts in visually appealing ways. I would love to find a way to incorporate this into my photography as well. While I won't be able to work with MIT like her I think I can use to show more natural things like how animals move or how plants grow.

My Comment:
Hi Raquelle! I think think your presentation was really well done! I know I've seen some of McCurry's work before, so it was nice to learn more about him. I think your evaluation of him as his work was really well done and you made sure to note the ethically evaluative nature of his work. While the ken burns effect keeps the viewer engaged I think you lose some of the beauty of seeing the entire work though. As for the artist himself, when I see this kind of work I always feel conflicted because too often artists will take pictures like these without the consent of the people in the frame, and while this may bring to light certain topics that need to be talked about the actual subjects in the frame are neglected. I think being an activist is a wonderful route for a photographer, but I hope that I can do it in an ethical way.
Hi Casey!
I’m thrilled with your choice of photographer, The images, especially the first one of the hands, are amazing, and your description really brings them to life. I also love how you discuss her legacy and impact on educators. Perhaps in a future video, you could share more of your personal thoughts on some of the images. Well done!"

Hi Casey,
I love your choice of photographer! I also love the images you chose, especially the first image of the hands as well as your description. I also love how you talk about her legacy and her influence on educators. I think you could also add in more about your opinions on some of the images and your thoughts in a future video.
